The news «On the roads of memory» - a meeting with internationalist soldiers on the 35th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan
This year marks 35 years since a limited contingent of Soviet troops left the territory of Afghanistan. For 2,238 days, soldiers and officers fulfilled their international duty with honor, showing genuine heroism and dedication.
On February 14, 2024, the staff of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore held a meeting with veterans who served in Afghanistan. The participants of the event, students of the Kostanay Industrial and Pedagogical College, got acquainted with the main events of the war, talked with its eyewitnesses, and paid tribute to the memory of the soldiers who died in Afghanistan. The event was accompanied by the exhibition "Bitter Memory of the Afghan War", which presents photographs, unique documents, uniforms, weapons of Afghan soldiers. No one was left indifferent by the soldiers' letters, the bullet-pierced military ID of the deceased soldier, a native of the Auliekolsky district Sagyndyk Buranshin. The exhibition will run for two weeks.
