"Touching Eternity" is an exhibition of works from the museum's stock collection dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the artist Abylkhan Kasteev
On February 23, 2024, the exhibition "Touching Eternity" dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the first Kazakhstani artist Abylkhan Kasteev opened in the exhibition hall of the Department of Fine Arts of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore. One of the leading masters of painting in the history of fine arts of Kazakhstan. Abylkhan Kasteev left behind a rich legacy of paintings of various genres, some of which were included in the golden collection of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore.
The portrait genre occupies a significant place in the artist's creative heritage, they are distinguished by their expressiveness and the desire to present a personality in its relation to historical events and the spirit of their time. In 1944, Abylkhan Kasteev recreated the image of the national batyr Amangeldy Imanov. For this work, Kasteev was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR. The artist worked on the theme of the Turgai uprising of 1916 for about 20 years. Visitors of the exhibition will be able to see the results of this work, these are portraits of A. Imanov's associates and the painting "Amangeldy Imanov's detachment on a campaign". Each of his works is an inspired narrative about his native land and its people, they reflect all the significant historical events that took place in the republic in the twentieth century. The artist, with great warmth and sincerity, sought to show the new things that are happening before his eyes in the life of the people.
The works presented at the exhibition, picturesque and watercolor landscapes, reflect the renewed beauty of the Kazakh land, human life, his work, his activities can be seen in the image of plowed lands, modern buildings.
