“Our region is famous for their names” an exhibition dedicated to virgin land
from Ukraine, who aOn February 28, 1954, Kustanai met the first echelon of pervotselinniks rrived on Komsomol vouchers. In the first year alone, 18 thousand 200 Komsomol members arrived in our region.
On the eve of the anniversary event, a thematic exhibition dedicated to virgin land was opened in the Department of Fine Arts of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore. The exhibition presents: household items that the first-born brought with them, documents, awards, photographs testifying to labor enthusiasm, optimism, how the steppes began to settle down, about the first furrow.
The exhibition also presents a collection of fine works by Kostanay artists, praising the feat of young boys and girls who abandoned well-equipped towns and villages, settled way of life and went to explore the bare steppes.
The exhibition will be open for a month.
