On March 6, 2024, an exhibition of graphic works in the museum's stock collection dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of the famous Kostanay artist and teacher A.I. Nikiforov "Sincerity in Strokes" opened in the exhibition hall of the A.I. Nikiforov Art School.
Alexander Ivanovich Nikiforov was born in 1914 in Kostanay. A participant in the Great Patriotic War, he walked the path of a soldier from Moscow to Vienna, where he met Victory Day. He was wounded and had awards. After demobilization in 1946, Alexander Ivanovich entered the Sverdlovsk Art College, but for health reasons, without completing his studies, he returned to his hometown and devoted his whole life to the work and education of the younger generation of Kostanay artists.
The exhibition hall presents graphic works by A.I. Nikiforov from the museum's stock collection. In the works of Alexander Ivanovich, executed by laconic, "stingy" means - ink, pen, pencil, convincing authenticity, documentary are combined with soft lyricism, sincerity and sincerity, love for everything depicted.
Alexander Ivanovich's works have a long life ahead of them, their historical value is unconditional, they have Kostanay, which is no longer there. But this is only part of their advantages. The other is that they were created by the hands and soul of a sincere, deeply feeling person and a talented artist, with his inherent professionalism. Therefore, they are close and memorable to everyone, and this already speaks about their artistic value.
The unobtrusive outwardly, but sincere, graphic sheets, made by the hand of A.I. Nikiforov, preserve the lively and warm face of the old city, preserve the memory of the past for new generations of citizens.
