In the hall of the Kostanay Regional Museum of History and Local Lore there is an exhibition dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of Baitursyn Ilyas, a famous journalist, writer, and poet. Baitursyn Ilyas was born on November 7, 1939 in the village of Torgai, Dzhangeldinsky district. Laureate of the Prize of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, awarded Certificates of Honor of the Supreme Council of the KazSSR, an honorary medal named after Akhmet Baitursynov. He worked for the newspaper “Egemen Kazakhstan” for more than 30 years. Ilyas Baitursyn is the author of the books “Tyn Tulekteri”, “Togyz Perne”, “Erlik Dastan”, “Oralu”, “Altyn Besik”, “Patsha Konil”. The exhibition presents photographs, documents, awards and personal belongings of Baitursyn Ilyas.
