“The Rebellion of the Brides” is on stage again!
Theater is such an environment that enhances our national culture and universal values, promotes different national traditions. On the 6th of March 2024 the audience will see a play written by Said Ahmad “The Rebellion of the Brides”, which was staged in our theater in 2008 and directed by Aralbai Toleubek.
And so a decade later the play, restored by an actor and a director of our theater Bauyrzhan Manatbekuly, is in the current repertoire of our theater again. This play has been staged in fourteen countries and has become significant not only on the theater stage but also in filmmaking and is still relevant even forty years later. The play, decorated with the national dances and music of the Uzbek people, cherishing their primordial traditions, touches upon some issues relevant not only for one people but for the whole world. The eternal problem of daughter-in-law and mother-in-law relationship is still an up-to-date problem in the Qazaq society. The pecularity of this play is that the main character Farmon Bibi heading her family, bringing up her seven sons, taking care about her twenty-one grandchildren and having seven daughters-in-law is a Qazaq. This play tells the audience a story about common values of two neighboring states, gives a good mood and at the same time stimulates profound reflection on some issues.
