Kazakhstan has taken part for the first time in the World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE) 2025, currently being held in Paris. One of the largest events in the nuclear industry, the exhibition has brought together leaders of major energy companies, as well as representatives of government bodies and international organizations from around the world.

The Kazakh delegation includes representatives of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic energy, Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plants LLP, NAC Kazatomprom JSC, the National Nuclear Center, and the Institute of Nuclear Physics.

In his remarks at the opening ceremony, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi emphasized the growing role of nuclear energy as a foundation for sustainable global development.

“Two years after the historic recognition at COP28 of the indispensable role of nuclear power—and the commitment to triple its global capacity by 2050—we are witnessing tangible progress. From promises to real achievements, the sector is returning to pragmatism: countries are expanding existing programs and launching new ones, updating regulatory frameworks to meet future energy needs,” said Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA.

At the World Nuclear Exhibition, Kazakhstan presented a national pavilion showcasing the country’s key achievements in the nuclear industry. The exposition highlights Kazakhstan’s significant progress toward building a comprehensive and technologically advanced nuclear cluster — from uranium mining and the development of high-tech production facilities to the manufacturing of finished nuclear fuel.

Particular attention is given to the country’s current initiatives and strategic plans aimed at creating a complete nuclear cycle, including the construction of Kazakhstan’s own nuclear power plants.
