The Public Council of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy has summarized the results of the industry’s performance for 2025
The second meeting of the Public Council of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy was held with the participation of representatives of government bodies, subordinate organizations, and civil society.
During the meeting, the results of the Agency’s and its subordinate organizations’ activities for 2025 were reviewed. The General Director of KAES LLP, Ernat Berdigulov, presented detailed information on the progress of nuclear power plant construction projects and the Company’s key performance results.
It was noted that in 2025 KAES moved into the active phase of project implementation. Large-scale organizational transformations were carried out, the company was transferred into state ownership and placed under the authority of the Agency. A professional team was formed, operational financing was secured, and corporate governance, risk management, and compliance systems were introduced.
At the same time, KAES is actively contributing to the development of the human resource and industrial foundation of the nuclear sector: a training center has been established, an agreement on the training of nuclear industry specialists has been signed, and comprehensive plans for workforce development and localization are being developed.
In addition, work is underway to strengthen industry cooperation and to develop a national regulatory and legal framework aligned with international safety standards, in close collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Special emphasis was placed on the importance of the Public Council’s role as an open dialogue platform for discussing key nuclear energy projects, taking into account the interests of both society and the state.
